AB de Villiers is a former South African international cricketer, right-handed batsman, and wicket-keeper. He is regarded as one of the greatest cricketers in the history of cricket and the best batsman of his era. He started his international career as a wicket-keeper-batsman but mostly played only as a batsman. He used to bat in various positions in the batting order, but mainly he used to bat in the middle order.

Early life

AB de Villiers completed his education at Afrikaans High School in Katoria. His best friend at school was Faf du Plessis. AB de Villiers participated in many sports tournaments during his schooling, was also awarded many achievements and awards, and has his own at the school and national level in many sports. He always considered the game of cricket as his first love and chose cricket as the best sport.

Domestic career

After choosing Titans as his first team in 2003, he continued his career by playing for Kerifrogas Cricket Club. AB de Villiers’ brilliant performance made him a fan of the national selectors within 1 year, so AB de Villiers was soon able to play for his country.

On September 2004, AB de Villiers played his first Test match against the England team at the Elizabeth Stadium and was given the opportunity to open the innings, which is a responsibility for any batsman. Was able to pick up and scored a total of 42 runs in both innings of his first match.  After the success of the first match, he was sent to bat at number seven in the next match and was also given the responsibility of wicketkeeping. His half-century with the bat in the second innings was instrumental for Africa in drawing the match. AB de Villiers was considered a definite part of the South African team after scoring his maiden Test century in the last match of the series. Since then his career is started in cricket.

AB de Villiers’s wife is Danielle de Villiers. Daniel was born on 27 September 1987 in South Africa. She is the only child of her parents. His father’s name is John Swart and her mother’s name is Alida Swart. Danielle decides to pursue a career in music but is not a singer professionally. He describes himself as a ‘musician’ on his Instagram Facebook all social media.

AB de Villiers and Danielle met each other in 2007 when they were teenagers. AB de Villiers attended a lunch with her mother one day at Danielle’s parents’ own hotel. Their friendship lasted for 5 years. AB de Villiers proposed to his girlfriend Danielle at the Taj Mahal in 2012.

They got married in March 2013. After marriage, they bought a house in Cape Town, South Africa, and decided to spend their lives there.
