KL Rahul whose full name is Kananur Lokesh Rahul. He is an Indian international cricketer who plays for Karnataka domestically. He usually plays as an opener in Test, ODI, and T20 game formats. Rahul plays as a regular wicket-keeper at international level and in domestic matches. 

Age and height

                   KL Rahul was born on 18 April 1992 in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. His height is 184 cm (6 ft 0 in).

   Parents

  KL Rahul’s mother’s name is Rajeshwari, she was a professor at Mangalore University.
  His father KN Lokesh, a native of Kannur, Magadi taluk, was a professor and former director of the National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Mangalore.

  Early life

       Rahul studied and grew up in Mangalore, attended high school at NITK English Medium School, and completed his pre-university at St. Aloysius College.
    He started cricket training at the age of 10. He started playing club cricket two years later. He started playing matches for both Bangalore United Cricket Club and his club in Mangalore. At the age of 18, he moved to Bangalore to study at Jain University and pursue his cricket career.

 Domestic cricket

    Rahul made his first-class cricket debut for Karnataka in 2010–11. He performed very well in the Karnataka Premium League, In the same season he got a chance in the Indian national team in the 2010 ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup and scored 143 runs in the competition.
  Two years later, He got a chance to play in the Indian Premier League for Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2013.

   In the 2014–15 Duleep Trophy final against Central Zone, Rahul scored 185 off 233 balls in the first innings and 130 off 152 balls in the second innings. He was adjudged man of the match and selected in the Indian Test squad for the tour of Australia.

 Selected Indian team

    In 2015, Rahul was selected for the Indian Test squad of Australia tour.  In the first innings of this Test series, he came to bat at 6 no position and scored 3 runs. In the second innings came to bat at 3 no position and scored 1 run. Despite such a poor performance, he got a chance to play the second match. In the second match, KL Rahul came in to open the bat with Murali Bijay and scored 110 runs.

  In 2016, he was selected for the Indian ODI team for the tour of Zimbabwe. It was his first ODI international match and He scored 100 runs against Zimbabwe in this match. Since then his career is started in cricket.

 KL Rahul’s wife’s name is Athiya Shetty. She was born on 5 November 1992. Her father is Bollywood actor Sunil Shetty and Her mother is Mana Shetty. He has a younger brother named Ahan Shetty.

Athiya Shetty met Indian cricketer KL Rahul at the Dashing Room in Mumbai through a mutual friend. Athiya and Rahul became friends within a short period of time and later Rahul often visited Mumbai to meet Athiya. Later the relationship between Athiya and Rahul started going viral on the internet. They later spent New Year’s Eve 2020 in Thailand partying together.

KL Rahul and Athiya got married on Monday 23 January 2023.
