Early life

Asked for time and Russell told his mother that if he could not succeed in the game in 2 years, he would do as his mother told him. In November 2010, Russell was selected to play against Sri Lanka. Andre Russell was included in the West Indies team for the first time in the tournament. where any player is usually given a place in ODI or T20 for the first time, Russell played for the first time in a Test match and then when he made his debut in an ODI match, he went straight to the World Cup in 2011. He played his first ODI match against Ireland in the World Cup, Although in this match he was not able to show much success with his batting, he impressed everyone with his bowling skills, and in 10 overs, he took one wicket for 37 runs. As time passed, Andre Russell proved himself with his explosive batting in the next few matches.

Selection IPL auction

  After seeing the brilliant all-round performance, his name was also added to the 2012 IPL and in this auction, Delhi Daredevils included him in their team by paying around three crores, although after playing with Delhi in 2012 and 2013 IPL Rasool joined Kolkata Knight Riders and since 2014 he has been associated with this team continuously and apart from IPL and West Indies team, Russell also played different roles like Big Bash League, Pakistan Super League, and Bangladesh Premier League.
