Rohit Sharma, full name Rohit Gurunath Sharma is an Indian international cricketer. He plays as a right-handed opening batsman for the Indian national cricket team and IPL Mumbai Indians. He played well in all three formats: Test, ODI, and T20. He is one of the most famous cricketers in the world.

Parents

    His mother’s name is Purnima Sharma, she is a resident of Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. His father, Gurunath Sharma, worked as a storehouse supervisor in a transport firm. As his father’s income was low, Sharma was brought up by his grandparents and uncles in Borivali. He has one brother, Vishal Sharma.

 Rohit and Ritika got married on 13 December 2015 after a 6-year-long relationship. 

School life

    Rohit Sharma joined a cricket camp in 1999 with his uncle’s money. Dinesh Lad, his coach at the camp, asked him to change his school to Swami Vivekananda International School, where Lad was a coach and the cricket facilities were better than those at Sharma’s school.

Sharma started as an off-spinner but he could bat to some extent. He excelled in the Harris and Giles Shield School Cricket Tournament, later scoring a century as an opener.

Domestic cricket

Sharma played well for West Zone against Central Zone in the Deodhar Trophy at Gwalior in March 2005. Batting at number eight, he scored an unbeaten 31 runs. West Zone won the match by 3 wickets with 24 balls to spare.

  In the same tournament, Udaipur remained unbeaten on 142 off 123 balls against North Zone at the Maharana Bhupal College Ground in Udaipur. He toured Abu Dhabi and Australia with India’s A squad and was then included in India’s 30-man probables list for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy tournament.

  Rohit Sharma was selected for the India-A team against New Zealand in Darwin in July 2006. He got a chance to play in the Ranji Trophy for Mumbai in the 2006–07 season and scored 205 off 267 balls against Gujarat. He scored a half-century (57) in his second innings in the final against Bengal. And Mumbai won the tournament.

Selected India team

   Rohit Sharma was selected on 23 June 2007. It was his first international match against Ireland. It was part of the 2007 Future Cup competition that also involved South Africa. He was number 7 in the batting order but did not bat as India won the game by 9 wickets.

  It holds the record in Test ODI and T20 formats. Also in IPL, he has captained Mumbai for a long time. He also has a record in IPL. The records are as follows.
